Adoptables? What are they? I see them everywhere but dont know what they are (embarrassed)

So adoptables are characters that you design and sell for a reasonable price. It's a huge part of DA and that's where people mostly get points from. They can range from animals, to anime characters, to anthros. You name it. :3
